5 Prettiest Products with Positive Messages

Do you feel drawn to beautiful items with interesting quotations?  Me too!

Not stuff with preachy cliches, though. I mean, how many times do we need to be reminded to “Live. Laugh. Love.”? What’s next, “Brush. Floss. Flush.”?

This is the first in a series of five posts about the prettiest products I’ve found so far with positive messages…

First up, Kathy Bransfield necklaces. Browsing her designs can be addictive. What’s this one say? How about that one? “Wildflower” is among my favorites, with the words, “May your life be like a wild flower… growing freely in the beauty and joy of each day.”

But of all Kathy’s designs, I asked my family for “Imagine” as my Mother’s Day gift this year. It’s perfect for anyone who loves the John Lennon song, which I do, but that’s not why I chose it. I chose it because two of the quotations that started me on my current path are these from Albert Einstein:

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world. And all there will ever be to know and understand.”

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

One day I found myself in a cafe where the first of these quotes was inscribed high upon the wall. Sitting there, sipping tea while waiting for Macy’s to open, I wondered:

Why would one of the world’s most heralded scientists write so much about imagination?

Coming from him, the idea struck me as far more than a cliche. It struck me as possibly truth, that actively making a practice of imagining the goodness you want for yourself, your family, your community and your world, could plant the seeds for creating the reality.
