Signs of Better Possibilities

One day after receiving news about a family member who is facing a serious health issue, I walked into a store on the Main Street in my hometown and saw this sign.

In case you can’t decipher the chalk-written message, it reads: “John Lennon once said, ‘Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.’ Just imagine Health, Happiness, Peace, Joy, Prosperity of Spirit, Love!”

Yes. Imagine health. Imagine healing.

I think it’s important to remember to imagine what we want — for ourselves, our families, our friends, our communities and our world — and believe that those loving imaginings are possible.

Thank you to the lovely store Abode for creating this sign and decorating the world with beauty.

Other places where I’m finding positive messages — pretty much everywhere. They pop up in my world way faster than I can share them with you, so I have amassed quite a collection. Let the sharing continue.

Found recently in a National Association of Memoir Writers newsletter and also previously in Pat Schneider’s book about Writing as a Spiritual Practice:

“Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” – Leonard Cohen

Writing of light… isn’t it fascinating it takes the intersection of darkness and light — the rain and the sun — to create a rainbow? This one appeared right in front of me this morning.

Last night my youngest son turned on the wonderful holiday movie The Polar Express. The quotations that stuck with me were when the conductor said:

“Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can’t see.”

“The thing about trains… it doesn’t matter where they’re going. What matters is deciding to get on.”
