Places with Positive Messages (aka “quotation locations”)

Visiting new places can be energizing and thought-provoking… even more so when there are insightful words on the walls.

It can be pleasant to find yourself in one of these spots. I like to call them “quotation locations,” and thought it could be fun to start a collection here within the Possibility Box. This is the first in a series of posts on places with positive messages.

Do you know any museums, landmarks, restaurants, stores, gardens, parks, etc., that could be counted among the best places with positive messages?

(In a future post, I hope to feature one particularly noteworthy place – a café where frescos of sages and inspirational inscriptions give you something to contemplate alongside your croissant. Stumbling upon this place might have changed the course of my life.)

What places with positive messages have meaning to you?

Share your ideas via the “Stories” form on the Possibility Box site or email me at michele@possibilitybox.com. Thank you in advance for your thoughts!

I snapped photos of the quotations pictured here during a recent tour of the Shoreway Environmental Center, a state-of-the-art recycling facility. In case you can’t read the quotes, here they are:

“Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.”

– Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

“What you do speaks so loud that I cannot hear what you say.”

– Ralph Waldo Emerson

“When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe.

– John Muir

“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”

– Dr. Seuss, from the Lorax
